Resilience of natural and planted forests worldwide

Global Comparison of Natural and Planted Forest Engineering Resilience from MODIS Time Series

Using MODIS vegetation-index time series and first-order autocorrelation (AR1) of detrended and deseasonalized residuals to compare engineering resilience and its spatial variation in natural and planted forests.

Global paired differences in NDVI residual AR1: red indicates higher AR1 in planted forests, and blue indicates lower AR1. — NDVI residual AR1 in planted minus natural forests. Positive values indicate greater anomaly persistence in planted forests, corresponding to lower engineering resilience.
